BAFTA 2013 nominations

So, today the nominations for BAFTA 2013 are up!

It seems that Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is in the run up to win big this year, being placed in ten categories including Best Picture but naturally, when the nominations were announced, the first thing I did was scroll down to see the nominees for Best Costume Design. It’s such a shame that The Great Gatsby was delayed until Summer 2013 as I’m sure Catherine Martin would have been one of the nominees for her exceptional 1920’s designs. Oh well, there’s always next year. That’s what they say right?

… and the nominees for Best Costume Design are:

Anna Karenina

Jacqueline Durran for Anna Karenina.

Great Expectations

Beatrix Aruna Pasztor for Great Expectations.

Les Miserables

Paco Delgado (love that name) for Les Misérables.

Lincoln

Joanna Johnston for Lincoln.

and last but not least …

Snow White and the Huntsman

Colleen Atwood for Snow White and the Huntsman.

The rest of the nominations can be found here on the BAFTA website.

What do you think of the nominations? Were there any costume designers you wish were nominated? Let me know in the comments below.

Catch the BAFTAs on the 10th February  – I’m already so excited!

Finally, I apologise for the distance (and how short this blog post is!)… I’ve missed blogging and hope to, I mean WILL find the time to keep up to date with it all again. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a project at university more, and now university is over and has been since last Summer – I’ve been struggling to find the time to just sit down and blog. This is due to going straight into full time internships since graduation – although I’m very lucky, I said to myself this year I would blog more – I know, I’m one of those clichés – but hopefully not one of those clichés that fails at this new years resolution I have made for myself. Thank you so much for reading! See you soon.
